I am an art therapist, artist, author, and mindfulness practitioner. As an art therapist, I enjoy inspiring people to use art as a tool to express their thoughts and feelings. Through my art, I explore the balance I’ve had to find between my experiences living in the West and growing up in the East (India). I enjoy sharing my knowledge of art therapy through my books, art, and teachings.

Meditation and yoga have become part of my daily routine, and I enjoy creating a safe place to meditate, make art, and share my knowledge through workshops. I completed a course in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and several week-long and day retreats. I am a teacher in Mindful Meditation and received my certification from the Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP). I use a combination of art therapy and mindfulness in my private practice. I speak several Indian languages, which include Tamil, Hindi, and Gujarati.

I have an art therapy private practice online in Virginia, USA. Email: sangeetaprasad2663@gmail.com

My love for art began early, and for many years, it felt incomplete on its own. I was searching for something more—a deeper purpose, a way to use creativity not just for expression, but for meaning and connection.

That turning point came unexpectedly in the quiet aisles of the U.S. Embassy Library in India. There, I came across a book titled Art Therapy with Children by Edith Kramer. As I read, something clicked instantly. I realized that art could be far more than a personal practice—it could be a powerful pathway for healing, growth, and transformation.

In that moment, I knew I had found my calling.

That discovery set me on a lifelong journey of learning, exploration, and self-discovery—one that ultimately led me to become an art therapist.
