Over the last two years, I have found mindfulness along with art therapy a wonderful way to help me, and my clients gain insight and awareness. I have found the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Tara Brach, Dan Siegel, Mark Epstein, Echart Tolle, Brene Brown, Dan Harris, and many others influencing my work and thinking.
I now have developed a model for a workshop on mindfulness and art therapy. Here I introduce the concept of RAIN – Recognize – Allow – Investigate – Nurture or Not Identify. Tara Brach explains how to use RAIN in our everyday life to understand the emotions and thoughts that arise in our minds. Her meditations and talks are available on her website and on podcasts.
